Sighting Text:
TR 72 OCT 97 * Bill Brann,10/25/97. The incident took place on July 4, 1997 on the west side of Skene Mountain in Whitehall, NY. Three hikers on the date I mentioned noted 6 X 13 inch tracks with a four foot stride. After following the prints for approximately 15 minutes they noted just off the left side of the trail a deep body impression in the tall grass. Greg Colm who is 6 feet tall laid down in a fetal position beside the impression. He was dwarfed in comparison. Whatever had laid there earlier was probably more than three times the body girth of Greg. He reported his finding to me but it wasn’t three days later that George Sands and I were able to go to the location with Greg and his father. Before we were able to reach the location a heavy rain prevailed keeping us from making any castings of the five toed prints. But I was able to get the overall body measurements. What had lain in the grass was nearly 8 foot tall. I’m not sure if you print the photo I enclosed if you’ll be able to distinguish the massive muscle structure that had laid there. In photo two, pictured with me is Greg Colm and his father Claus, both I found to be reliable and extremely helpful. Claus Colm is a respected businessman. Just a footnote, in the book Monsters of the Northwoods the Skene Country Club received lots of publicity due to the sighting of Bigfoot by the club’s owner Clifford Sparks. Skene Mountain is directly across the road from the country club (golf course).
