Sighting Text:
* K. Foster (lead from George Earley), 1993. Southern San Juan Wilderness, Colo. Canyon Diablo, just above Platoro Reservoir on Conejo’s River. Found 16 inch long tracks, 48” stride. Also, Sheriffs Dept. took video of two sets of 19” tracks in fresh snow, discovered by a lady trying to take photos of mule deer. Tracks went on for a mile, went into woods with five foot strides that never faltered or shortened. Many old Jemez Pueblo Indian stories of a giant hairy man-beast living in the area where I found the tracks, that date back to 1540. I know 9 people who have actually seen them there in the last ten years. One of the guys is an elk hunting guide with 15 years experience that “bugled-in,” what he said was a Sasquatch that was over 8 feet tall and stepped into the clearing he was working at a distance of 30 yards. “I figured it up, and I had spent over 120 days back packing, bow hunting and wilderness lake fishing in the southern San Juan Wilderness before I came across my first and only set of Sasquatch tracks. What no I tell another rifle hunter and his teenage son who were hunting in Colorado and came upon a bear feeding on an elk carcass when they surprised it from 30 or 40 yards away. To their horror the bear turned and looked at them with a face that to ‘both of them’ them looked like a gorilla with a pointy head. This creature then stood on its hind legs to full height of over 7 foot tall and the massive creature walked away with long powerful human-like strides, glancing back every so often as it disappeared into the forest. “When you talk to 4 bow hunters, two of which have taken bears with a bow, with straight faces and in all seriousness, they tell you that they stood and watched a hairy man-like creature that looked like a gorilla with heavy legs, run across a Colorado mountain meadow in plain sight for over 100 yards, and at a distance of about 100 yards, and they tell you that it was most certainly not a bear because ‘bears don't run on their hind legs,’ you just can't say to them,’all four of you were mistaken and you really just saw either a bear or some 8 foot tall, 600 pound guy hoaxing you in a monkey suit.’ ”

Sighting Text:
CO, CONEJOS 1997 TR#69 * Matt Moneymaker reports on the Internet: Randall on July 13th, at 1:30 PM, in Conejos County, Colorado, saw a Bigfoot on the Lake Fork foot-trail, halfway between Big Lake and Rock Lake. He was on the eastern branch of the Saddle Creek logging road, about 2.5 miles SSE of Platoro, CO. Using binoculars he saw a group of three hikers a quarter of a mile away, and 1000 feet lower.. Some 400-500 yards in front of them was a large black object moving in the same direction at a faster speed, but was not on the trail, instead in the meadow next to the trail (Bigfooters note...don’t always stay on the trail when looking for Biggie...get offa’ it), and had apparently been spooked by the hikers and their dog. From the size of the hikers, it was bigger, bipedal, and definitely not a bear. After five minutes he lost sight of the creature in the aspen trees, and didn’t think the hikers saw it. He traveled down the road to intercept the hikers, but failed to find their car. He and his wife were looking for elk at the overlook, when they saw the creature.

In the winter, late 70s or early 80s, footprints found while camping behind Pikes Peak, near Colorado Springs, CO, in the Pike National Forest, 7-8000 foot level. Abundant snow cover around the camp, the two came upon a trail while trekking through deep snow. It was located on a rise from the valley floor, and they followed it for a short distance when they came upon very large tracks. Looked human, but bare-foot, the tracks continued without breaking stride through a deep snow (too deep for us to continue) area between two adjacent mountains.

Sighting Text:
CO LARIMER 1990 TR#84 40 25N 105 10W * BFRO report. Leona H., her son, Dallas, and his wife and another friend saw a Bigfoot on Aug. 10 or 11th, 1990, on a bright sunny day about 11AM. This was 25 miles NW of Ft. Collins, off Hy 34 to Loveland, in the Roosevelt NF, CO. Witness had bought a small piece of property and was building a bridge across Buckhorn Creek. His son was glassing a mountain to the west with binoculars when he first saw the creature. Daughter-in-law looked and said, “It’s chasing some deer,” then, “My God Mom, its got knees!” Then it ran into a group of pine trees and we waited. Several minutes later it leaped out of the trees and went running like the wind across the face of the mountain on the rugged terrain. It had a very strange distinctive gait. It was about 7 feet tall, pitch black, and in broad daylight. A huge bird, maybe a vulture kept circling around where the thing was, perhaps waiting for it to make a kill. It appeared to have a tuft of snow white hair on its head. They have not seen another one since, although they have watched the mountain often. Elevation was over 6,500 ft. and there is a lot of vegetation in the area besides pine. The area on the mountain where it was running was mostly bare and rocky, but the creature disappeared into pine trees. There are several creeks and lakes in the area.

Sighting Text:
CO 1990’S TR95 * From: K. Foster Date: 27-Jan-00 When we were having all that Bigfoot activity near our Colorado cabin in the early 90's, my then 45 year old cousin had his large RV almost tipped over at night by something that was shaking it. Whatever it was, stole a large box of apples, box and all, that night from under the edge of the RV. My cousin grabbed his pistol, but could not even stand up as the creature was rocking the RV so violently that it was coming off its wheels on one side. It was dark out, and all he could see was something big and tall outside the windows of his RV. He said it was walking on its back legs and so thought it couldn't be a bear. It was grunting and huffing and puffing loudly while rocking the RV and it then stopped abruptly and just walked away. Guess it just was asking for more apples. Was it just a big bear? We don't know, but did find out that another family had the same thing happen the next year at a nearby campground. None of these people, including my cousin, had ever heard of the other Bigfoot stuff that was happening in the area. My cousin thought it was a really big bear at the time, but could not figure out why it was walking around his RV on its back legs like a person. He said it was way too big to be a person. He and those in the cabin that night also reported that the creature smelled so bad that it almost made them wretch. Their description of the smell was a cross between rotting meat, sewer and the monkey house at a zoo. Which could describe the smell of a bear that had been eating a rotting carcass, so really means nothing in particular. What I wish is that someone would start taking fingerprints at the scene of some of these incidents involving cars, trucks and RV's. Then we might have something substantial to look at. We probably won't get fingerprints either, because few law enforcement agencies are going to take fingerprints at the scene of a "bear" shaking a vehicle. Now if somebody is killed in a vehicle by a Bigfoot, we might get some fingerprint evidence, but that event is very unlikely. I guess we already have toe prints with all the dermal ridges that are like fingerprints, and nothing has really come of it, except a few fingerprint experts telling us that such things couldn’t happen in the early 90's, my then 45 year old cousin had his large RV almost tipped over at night by something that was shaking it.

CO 1999 TR95 This report originally posted to BFRO. * K. Foster report. Fall, 1999, southern Colorado. A bow hunter, his wife and teen-aged son and a nephew all saw a Sasquatch clearly, run across a wide-open meadow within 100 yards of them, while scouting for an elk hunt. A government bear hunter reported the same thing there back in the 1800’s Something is grabbing living evergreens ten feet off the ground and twisting them like a match stick, even though the trunk is over four inches in diameter. Tree after tree, after tree, and bend it downward after the twist. They are not bitten off, they are twisted by something. We also had a Forest Service sign that was repeatedly being pulled up from the ground by vandals. It had a 4 X 4 post and the FS finally greased the pole with heavy axle grease to keep the vandals from pulling it out of the ground again. The next time they checked it, it was out of the ground and tossed to the side again. They found fingerprints the size of summer sausages in the grease.

Sighting Text:
CO TELLER 1986 TR#85 * In October, 1986, Teller County, CO, near Cripple Creek Watershed. In high mountain forest, just below timberline at about 10,000 feet. Friend told reporter that at first light, the friend, his father, and his cousin had crested a hill in two pickup trucks. There was six inches of fresh snow on the ground, and on the hillside in front of them about 200 yards away they saw a fresh set of tracks, very large and easy to distinguish in the new snow. They had left a heavily wooded area. going downhill into an open area, looped around, and went back up to the forest, in an “omega” pattern . Studying the area with binoculars, looking for elk, the cousin turned white as he put the glasses down. “I think I just saw Bigfoot.” They did not go any closer or examine the tracks.
