ID ADAMS 1982 TR#88 * In June, 1982, about 100 miles south of Grangerville, ID, on Hy. 95, report from a man asleep and friend driving when at 1:30 AM friend in a fairly level road screamed and slammed the brake. He said, “did you see that!” Referring to a “thing” that was dark and hairy, walking on two legs, and was tall. It was noted to stride across the road and kept on going when he saw the car coming 75 feet away, the headlights shining on it. The driver is a Born Again Christian and a school teacher. The area was in wooded forest far from any towns.

ID BEAR LAKE 1982 TR#87 42 19N 111 17W 5964 FT * Elk Valley east of Montpelier, ID (close to Wyoming), late Aug or early Sept, 1982 or ‘83. It was at the opening of archery season and at a beaver pond called “The Bloody Bucket.” Several friends were camped with fathers at annual bow camp. In the morning the hunt was at the top of a thick area of forest, and witness was instructed to go through the forest and walk downhill. Friends were flanking him to drive game out. At 100 yards away to left of witness there were three erect dark-brown Bigfeet walking down a trail near the trees in a hurry. The tallest was leading, and the smallest was trying hard to keep up. The tallest turned and waved an arm as if telling the smallest to hurry up. No sounds were heard. The area was in aspen and pine at about 7000 ft. Years later one of witness’ friends described to a “T” what witness had seen. He had been slightly ahead of witness to his right in the trees about 75 yards away, and had witnessed the same thing. Later heard that same summer or fall that there had been another sighting near Montpelier Res. a few miles west of Elk Valley.

* TR35 (Still Billy Guffin) About 15 years ago, and about 20 miles east of Saint Maries, Idaho, I was driving around mountain roads and trails, and my car stuck in a quagmire of clayish mud. I was trying to reach the summit of this mountain which was the only way to get to the main highway, and it was dark. The road was well sheltered from both sides with tall pine trees in a huge valley. On the right there was an incline of about 10 feet covered with dense brush, and an old road used as a cattle trail. I was about halfway to the end of this road when I heard a voice yell, "chinka." It was not a human voice. The best way I could describe it would be to say it sounded like a meadowlark, high pitched, and quavering. It ran past on the trail above, and I yelled, "stop...I won't hurt you!" As it was pitch black, I couldn't see it, but as it passed it sounded like a very heavy person running on two legs with tennis shoes on loose gravel. In a couple of long strides, after passing me, I heard the crackle of brush indicating the thing was going in the forest above. There was no strong odor as he passed me. In that area there have been stories of domestic and wild animal bodies that have been killed and their bodies mutilated.

*(PB LETTER) Gerry Ouellette, Montana. Notes from letter of Oct 7, 1976: He told her (a man told a book store owner) that he was snow-mobiling last winter in Idaho just south and west of Libby. He had fallen behind his brother upon taking a short cut or something. He had run across these tracks thought to be snow shoes. Upon closer examination he saw toe prints, he got quite scared, from what she said, and found his brother and simply told him he was cold and was going in.

ID PEND’ ORELLE 1998 TR#74 * Damon A., March 3, ‘98. My family owns a cabin on Pend'Orelle lake in the panhandle of Idaho. I had heard Art Bell’s show on Bigfoot with you on it, so my mind was still in tune with what I had heard on the show (especially about the knocking of a stick against a tree. My brother and I were out getting fire wood for the cabin, and I started to rap on a tree. I waited for about two minutes and did it again. Then I heard that same call from the show ( the one Art Bell described like sonar) It was some miles away, but sounds really echo in the saddle of that mountain. I have spent some time in the woods, and had never heard a call like that one before. Nor have I heard it since. (I haven't tried rapping on a tree like that since) I don' t know what I experienced, only that it was unusual. The cabin is located on Kilroy Bay on the S.E. side of the lake. There is not much development on the eastern side because the mountains are so steep, it literally is the beginning of a huge expanse of forest that tails off into Montana. It was on a weekend about 1:00 in the afternoon, and a sunny day. I’m not sure what I heard was a Bigfoot, but it was something.

Suzanne B. was driving about 3 PM in the afternoon, when a 3 1/2 foot off-greenish Chupacabra, weighing about 100 pounds, ran in front of her car only ten feet away. It had two arms and two legs, though it was moving so fast she did not get a good look at the hands and feet. It had five, two-foot long spines on its back, and had strange compound eyes, like a fly. It ran very fast with a funny gait, and was out of sight in mere seconds. She guessed it was traveling 70 mph. It did not have any wings (other reports note this).incidentally, the current thinking is that, as the Spanish re-introduced horses to the New World in the 1500’s, the aliens have introduced their pets to our times...or at least they have escaped and gone feral...or were feral in the first place?

She noticed its eyes following the traffic even, before they were out of sight. This was in a morning of August, 1969. It was a light brown color, hunched down to 3/4s of its normal height, and had its arm around a tree with white bark and the leaves far up (possibly quaking aspen). The face was not covered with hair, and the eyebrows slanted backward to a flat head, rather than a pointed or rounded head.

#* A book shop customer (doesn't want name used) thinks he might have smelled Bigfoot in Idaho. He was assessing a hard rock gold mining claim near the ghost mining town of Florence, near RiggIns which is near the Salmon River. The area sits in an ancient extinct volcano. One night in the early spring of 1987 or 1988, his big male boxer dog started going crazy. About this time he smelled the most "God awful smell, it almost gagged you...like urine and feces from an overturned outhouse," he said. Had to chain the dog in the tent with me, and he was o.k. as long as he was touching me. The next day he found the carcass of a dead sheep, it was an old kill though, and was pretty rotten...mostly bones. The smell was different from the night before, "it wasn't the same thing," he said. He hiked around looking for BF signs, going 4-5 miles along a nearby ridge, and hunting for tracks on the roads, but found no prints or other spoor of BF, and theorized that it had followed the ridge without leaving any trace. He mentioned that his dog was a real scrapper, once attacking a bobcat and only getting a few scratches. After firing his pistol twice, the cat finally ran away and he was able to call the boxer off. He also mentioned that a bobcat he had seen at night recently had yellow reflecting eyes.

She was with a bunch of kids playing in an abandoned camp with cabins and she was thrown in the lake while the other kids ran off. As she was headed back to her parents camp; two miles north of town; just beyond a small peninsula; she saw something kind of loping down the trail; apparently bent over or on all fours. She thought it was a bear and froze so not to attract its attention. Then it stood to full 7-8 foot height and looked at her. "It was huge; maybe 450#." I ran to my parents cabin nearby and got into the bunk and stayed there. It had glossy jet black hair; not long; "about bear length;" but was so human-like that she at first thought it looked like a man in a monkey suit. The sun was shining on him and their was a blonde colored field of grass behind him and on the hill behind the abandoned cabins for contrast. The creatures head was sloping back to a point; the size was to big for it to be a man; and it was definitely not a bear; it was thick through the waist and had monstrous legs; the mouth was shut...lips not thin or thick; and the jaw was prominent; "huge; I thought it was gonna' eat me." The incident was about noon-1 PM; and it was 50-60 yards away. She was most impressed by the black leathery face with the almost flat nose; and was frozen for 30 seconds or so before she panicked and started running; "my heart stopped;". * In late June, 1974, Juanita Arrington was traveling south on Hwy. 95 out of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho...she's not sure how far she had gone. At 2-3:00 AM, as she was rounding a sharp bend going downhill, she noticed a tall, furry, not-a-bear, creature as it went around a really huge boulder. The six foot creature looked human in her headlights as it froze for a second, before running behind the boulder. She screeched to a halt, more to avoid hitting the creature, but by then it was gone in the darkness.

ID NEZ PERCE MISG TR#70 Ms. Florey had several tantalizing tidbits for us. One of the things she does, is analyze droppings and hairs...a new resource for us (contact her at 21507 54th Place W., Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043). She told also of Bigfeet in the mountains turning over boulders to look for mice or pica, and commented on a Bigfoot sighted in a domestic raspberry patch near Lewiston, ID. One of her more interesting items was the announcement that a helicopter newsreel clip seen on television had a good close-up of tracks through the ash field after Mt. St. Helens erupted. The stride was much greater than human and was in an area on the east side of the mountain that was sealed off. The news didn’t comment on the tracks, that were deeper on the right side than the left. Mary Jo thinks it might have been a female Bigfoot carrying a child.

ID VALLEY 1993 TR#77 44 54N 116 06W * Dr. Jim Karl, May 19th vonohain@sprynet.com I picked up a second hand story on the plane flight home. My plane stopped in Reno for about a half hour to pick up more passengers. A nice young family was sitting in front of me, and I started talking with the father, who looked about thirty years old. I mentioned that I had made an effort to look for A Bigfoot. He told me the following: A friend of his, now 27 years old, had been an avid outdoorsman until about five years ago when he sighted an eight foot five Bigfoot near McCall, Idaho. The Bigfoot appeared very angry to the young man, and he gave up going into the wilderness ever since. The gentleman, telling me the story, appeared very sincere and believable. The exact height "eight feet five inches" suggests that there may have been a good reference marker nearby (although it doesn't sound like the witness would have gone back by himself with a tape measure). Perhaps, the man is good at estimating height.
