Summary: BF ON ISLAND IN BOG, TRACKS SEEN

TR 87 MAY 1999 * In Nov., 1978, eight miles SE of Margie, Minn. A man-like creature was sighted on an island in a bog by RJ who was hiking. Tracks were seen by the District Forester, who had been doing a survey, and logging crews who reported seeing tracks in the 60’s and 70’s. There was deep snow and low temperatures on the island, that was only about six feet above the water. There were white pine, and balsam cedar on the 2.5 x .5 mile long island.

MN TR22 (Bigfoot sleeping record-M. Jay). Ron F. from northern Minnesota; BF country in its own right, as we’ve learned in recent ears. When Ron was still a child, before the family moved to Oregon, he recalls his father telling a story about encountering a large, hairy, ape-like being on a snowy, deserted Minnesota country road one evening…the critter was face-down in the roadway head laid atop its forearms, knees bent and tucked under its body, arse in the air- obviously asleep until the noise of the oncoming car and the flash of the headlights arouse it, whereupon it leapt to its feet and bounded away on its hind legs, leaving Ron’s bewildered father wondering what in the world he’d seen. This would have happened in the late 1940’s or early 1950’s, well before such stories became a part of the BF lore, and in any case, knowing both Ron and his father (now deceased) on a personal basis, I’m quite confident that neither would have any reason or desire to make up a monster tale. Both men are/were experienced hunters and woodsmen; very competent wildlife observers. (Glen Thomas describes seeing two female Bigfeet near Estacada sleeping like this in the snow during daylight; also Sanderson pictures a Yeti sleeping in this position).

MN tr21 * Darrel (police Chief of Bingen, Wa.) and Helen Bulzomi, tell a story of their son David Patrick. He was on a cross road near Graceton, in northern Minn., 1978, when he saw the hairy Bigfoot critter cross the 'road. Two weeks later a tracker was taken to the site near a tall roadside sign (the critter was taller), and found foot prints. The son said it was "real big." **Prior to this, 3-4 miles further up the road a boy saw one in his front yard (large country type) in 1976.

TR 55 MAR 96 * DON PETERSON writes that a private source told him that 9- 10 years ago, Louie L. came into the police station all exhausted. He had been plowing above the woods near an overhanging bluff area near Lake City, MN. Out of the timberline stepped an overgrown gorilla that darted across the field. He was so scared he told the story to others and they did not believe him. Police dispatched to the scene found nothing.
