Strange Audio for the October Expedition

Here is something I would like you audio folks to take a listen to. This was recorded on Saturday about 2:30 pm. at the bait station area. There were no 4 wheeler or vehicle sounds recorded before or after this. You can hear some what sounds like something heavy on the rocks of the creek bed. Whether moving rocks or walking on the rock. Some human like chatter, and some deep grumbly growling sounds. Please listen all the way through as there appears to be some roaring sounds as well as rock hitting rock sounds towards the end. I'm not sure what to think on this clip. Any ideas?

I will have to listen to it when I get home from work Randy, but have you reviewed the audio you had running while you sat in the creek yet? I'm interested in if you caught all that there. I'm still reviewing my audio, it's about 400 hours combined total.

Yes I have. That was the first audio I reviewed. A couple of things we need to differently when we do it again. One is to have the recorder further away from the person on the post. With my reaction when the slide happened was also recorded loud on the recorder to the point of no being able to tell what was the slide and what was me moving to try and see what made the sound. We need to implement a drop box or hands free recorder placement. The vocalization were picked up nicely. Here is the screams/howls from mountain top to mountain top.

This is a little more faint, but here was the rock clatter as something crossed the creek down stream from where the slide was.

This was a knock that was recorded while you were still at the bait station before the scream/howl vocalizations above.

And these two faint knocks were recorded about 15 minutes before you picked me up. I suspect that it was because you were on the trail again.

I plan on putting together a more detailed report on the Ghost Post. I really think that it can be a very viable way to get more evidence as well as helping with audio dropbox placement.

To me on the very first clip, it makes me wonder if someone was down on the creek bed gathering rocks, but it really wouldn't make much sense to drive down that trail from the bait station to get rocks when they could just drive down to the creekbed from the bait station.

I have to agree. The only other thing I thought was someone making a trail for hunting season? But I would still suspect more vehicle sounds of some sort. That one low rumble sound does have a mechanical like type of sound to it but you don't hear it move after what sounded like something started. But it really didn't show something mechanical running after wards when you suspected they would of left. Again, I ain't saying it was bigfoot related, but it didn't have the hallmarks of what people would do either. Perplexing stuff at times with this audio stuff.

Since we have already talked about the ghost post on this thread I thought I would add a bit more. While doing the audio review at the new gate, I found something interesting. When Goose and Blue Eyes went on their run through to the bait station you could hear them go through on the way out. No unusual sounds. Upon their return you can hear them go through the gate and something came real close to the recorder. I suspect that if it weren't for the 4 wheeler running and their talking they may have heard the commotion that was happen 25 foot or so away. Conclusive? No but it was really interesting. Hopefully when I get to the file with our Ghost Post run it will also give the same sounds upon the return(s) that night. It would definitely show a travel route for future investigations.

Unbeknownst to me the fancy noise cancelling headphones were messing up distorting some of the sounds. Found that out when I was listening to music while loading another file. Listening to my original audio of this post, I have to agree it is definitely people activity. Now that I've got the old set of headphones that I used for years it is plain to hear.

Now guess who has to go back through a bunch of audio.... Ain't technology great when it don't work right!?!?
