Pushing The Line

As most of us have learned since we started researching is that our fear line or bottle takes more and more to fill up to where we exit the woods during probable encounters. What will send the average person or new researcher out of the woods is not a big deal for us anymore.
I think the critter also has a line that can go from a neutral experience of curiosity to an aggressive stance. I think during the rock throwing incident I had some years back I crossed that line and things went south quick. However luckily it wasn't a long term set back. So one thing to keep in mind is there is two separate lines that we need to be aware of. I think for long term research in the same area is to try not to cross their lines.
Some of the things I do to try and not cross that line is at night when I am out there I stay on human areas if you will. Logging road, field roads, even walking trails go into that category. During the days I explore where I want to but at night I try and give them their spaces.
So where are your lines in research? How hard do you push them? What are your results?
