CA HUMBOLDT 1995 TR94 * Peter Byrne report, peterbyrne@aol.com Dear Mr. Byrne, Somehow I feel that I know you as I have seen you on TV on several occasions and have seen you referenced in books and have read one of your books at least twice. Needless to say, I am fascinated with Bigfoot. I am a geologist and an engineer by degree, though I think my real expertise is in biology. I grew up in the wilderness of the Black Hills of South Dakota. I am very familiar with all sorts of animals and have spent endless hours following their tracks and camping in the woods. I am also a former infantry sergeant. My twin brother shares my passion with biology and with Bigfoot and he accompanied me to Bluff Creek one week probably 5 years ago. We had to move rocks off the road so we were very sure no one used the road in months. It was our second trip there but this time it was different. On one occasion we smelled something that was similar to a skunk but more rotten smelling than that. We found a giant pile of droppings that was impressive and not bear like. We went up the hill (I think it was Blue Mountain or Blue Ridge Mountain?). (EDITOR-BLUE CREEK MOUNTAIN) There was still some snow so we got out and walked along the paved road. We came across a set of deep prints in the snow which were melted and not good evidence. What amazed me about the footprints is that the stride was longer than I could possible duplicate even if I jumped from print to print. I know that someone who didn't see them would just say they were probably a rabbit or a fox jumping from track to track, but like I said, I spent countless hours following tracks in the snow and I don't believe that is what they were. I realize from reading your book that you too know tracks. Anyway, I understand that sort of evidence doesn't prove anything. The memorable part of that trip occurred later that night. We were probably two miles from Notice Creek , sleeping on the side of the road as there was no one there and we were not concerned about getting run over. Sometime around midnight, my brother started screaming. I jumped out of my sleeping bag just in time to see him jumping out of his bag. He grabbed his flashlight and shown it on a fleeing mouse as he exclaimed that the mouse bit him. I had a good laugh. As we went back to sleep, we laid there on the dirt road in the extremely quiet forest. As we laid there quietly for about a minute, we heard something walking up the road toward us. It will be extremely hard to do the sound of the footsteps justice. The thing coming at us seemed to be walking on two feet. I could hear features of each foot step. I could hear the rocks rolling under each foot as it placed it on the ground. With each step, I could hear the heel strike and the foot roll along. It sounded very large and it just seemed to be getting closer and closer and louder and louder, until I could take it no more. To describe the sound which was very easily heard, it was like a large tire was rolling on gravel at least as long as the foot touched the ground as it walked. I looked at the frightened look in my brothers face and realized he heard it too. I am somewhat ashamed to say that we got scared and jumped in the car. We did manage enough courage to use the headlights of our vehicle to look for the source of the sound. We did not see anything but we were seriously spooked and decided to move our campsite up the hill toward the main road. We didn't tell anyone (except a couple of friends) the story as there really was no evidence for what happened. When I did talk about it, I always described the sound of the foot rolling along. We did not notice any odor. Lately I have renewed my study of Bigfoot and have given that encounter a lot of thought. I realize now and am sure that you are aware that Bigfoot footprints reveal that the animal has a very flexible foot. That really made sense to me as I relate the flexible foot with the sound of the footsteps we heard. The double ball, it seems to me is another joint of the foot which we don't have. Our foot is rigid and because our arch keeps that part of the foot off the ground, there is no need for us to have a ball there. I have read that Bigfoot has a flexible foot but I never read anything giving the reason for the double ball. It is probably somewhat obvious but it seems that the flat feet and double ball are an adaptation to great weight. I hope that conclusion was not too obvious. Anyway, I wish you good luck in your continued search.

CA HUMBOLDT 1996 TR#73 * Daniel Perez, Jan. 10th, 1998. 10926 Milano Ave., Norwalk, CA 90650-1638; (253) 942-1904 Enclosed herein please find photographs from the Lewiston River Dam sighting location, March 15, 1996, that was posted on the Internet. The couple never specified what campground this all occurred at, so with some diligence, I was able to find the exact location; between camps #26 and 27 at Ackerman Nat. Recreation Area Campground, Shasta Trinity NF, CA. It certainly is good country and I spent Christmas there and was able to take some site measurements. My only question is how tall the witness is, Mr. Stefan James. The other photo is the man who saw photographs of Bigfoot tracks in 1957, before the 1958 commotion in Bluff Creek. John Green mistakenly labeled those tracks 1947, yet an afternoon spent with the witness (taped interview) on Dec. 26 cleared up discrepancies. I have just received word that Roger Patterson’s original movie is in “good” condition.

Sighting Text:
CA HUMBOLDT 1999 TR96 In Oct ‘99, Victor BASTULLI visited the Bluff Creek area, CA, stopping at Notice Ck and Louse Creek. Near Weitchpec, along the Klamath River he noticed rock cairns, a 100# rock on the bottom, and three smaller ones on top (the last one a pebble) ...the top had an acorn, as if bait for something. This was on a flat topped hill, 25-40 ft high. Along the Klamath River there, he saw and video taped (plus the cairns) tracks of two creatures, 12” and 9”, the stride about 56”. He was impressed with the length of the toes, longer than human, and way out of proportion to our own.

Standing off to the side between two trees was one of the biggest; hairiest thing I'd ever seen in my life. this was no monkey. My brother began to scream and that put mom in gear; and she poured on the gas,
