Sighting Text:
CA TR22 La Port Mine * Jack Beelak of Westport, OR, was in the Sierras doing a clearing job for the Forest Service. He was 15-20 miles NW of the old 1850’s mining town of La Port (north of Reno, in CA), off a road leading to a fire lookout. He also recalled that there was a sign nearby marking the Cascade Crest Trail. It was July of 1976, clear, no moon, and the sun had set, but there was still a little light. Off to the east he could hear cattle settling down for the night. All of a sudden he heard the damndest loud yell…”cattle stampeded by us, tails in the air. I had the kids with me, and their eyes were like saucers. We were sleeping on the ground, and built a big fire. Some minutes later we heard the same noise again, only it was further east.” Two weeks later while watching the Six Million Dollar Man battle Bigfoot, the BF screamed when it tipped over a truck, and the yell was exactly the same. He wondered first where they had obtained the yell, and next if there was a film company where he had been camping, although he had looked around the next day and not found anything strange or out of place.

Sighting Text:
From: carenequiet@jps.net (Carene) Deer season...It's deer season again, in Calif. And I'm reminded of a sighting by a deer hunter that I thought was interesting. This was about 1996 in the Lake Allmanon area, Northern Calif. My husband and I had been camping near a beautiful little creek, we'd had our travel trailer there all summer. I remember while on a walk, counting 24 deer within a half mile of our site. I don't think I've ever seen so many deer in one area before, it was a quiet, wonderful spot. Then, bow hunting season opened. Within one day, we were converged upon by several vehicles with travel trailers, jeeps, etc. Our camping spot had turned into a "Hunter's Headquarters." I remember seeing the fellows go out before dawn each morning, cammo-colored vehicles and clothing, greasepaint on their faces, sitting on some type of platform apparatus on the back of their vehicles very serious hunters. The deer seemed to know they had come and left the area en masse. The hunters stayed a few weeks, some of them shot a deer, others weren't so lucky. My husband and I had become acquainted with the fellows camping closest to us. We would talk each day briefly about the hunt...if they had been successful or not. It occurred to me to ask the fellows if they had seen anything besides deer on their excursions as they went out religiously, every morning and late afternoon. One of the fellows told me that indeed, one of his comrades had told the group about seeing a very odd animal just the day before. Here's what he told me: The hunter encountered what he thought to be a young bear. His first glimpse of the animal was from behind it. It appeared the "bear" was squatting and defecating. He stood still, watching and waiting for the "bear" to move off. To his surprise, the animal stood up and walked away on two legs, like a man. It was black, covered with long hair, approx. 41/2 ft. tall with long arms swinging a bit at it's sides. The creature turned only slightly, apparently saw the hunter and continued on in unhurried fashion. What he initially thought was a "bear," could now only be described as a creature fitting the description of a "young Bigfoot." The story was told in a 1lighthearted manner, I suppose the man was fearful of sounding ridiculous to the other hunters. But my neighbor took his friend, and the account to be quite serious and truthful. (Enter: The curse of Bigfoot) -I was told that the hunter who had the sighting had just left that morning, but not to worry, as he was a regular and came back every year to the same hunting spot. I was given the exact location of the sighting, I made sure my husband listened as the location was given, so I would have his help in finding it. We gathered up our camp and headed home. We would stop by the location of the sighting on the way out, and I would collect a sample of the droppings for microscopic examination... My dear husband proceeded to drive right past the road to the location of the sighting. We had a very animated conversation ALL the way home as he finally conceded that he was NOT going to drive around the wilderness looking for a pile of... droppings. We haven't been back, I wonder sometimes if the hunter ever returned to hunt that area again Carene

Sighting Text:
CA PLUMAS 1996 TR93 4500FT 401510N 1210937W * Carene, Jan 17, 00. Weapons and clothing In answer to your question regarding weapons, I have one report of a forest service employee sighting a Bigfoot creature in the general area of Lake Almanor in Calif. This was about four years ago. I had opportunity to talk with him the day of the sighting. This lead to finding an interesting artifact that may be of interest. Michael states he had taken his sister's dog out for an outing, some swimming and exercise. He spotted a large black figure on the other side of a tributary of the lake. It had evidently stopped for a moment, then walked away from the area rather slowly. He describes the figure as having a rather large posterior, he thought at first it was possibly someone wearing a "fanny pack" or perhaps carrying a fishing creel resting on the lower back. Upon closer scrutiny he noted the height, very tall, approx. 7 ft. and the build massive, beyond human dimension. (he gave no estimate of the weight). What he at first thought was dark colored clothing was actually long black hair covering the entire body. He immediately realized he was not looking at a human, but rather a type of creature unknown to him. His first look at the figure was from a side view, straight across from him, (hence the emphasis on the profile) What he had first mistaken as the fanny pack, or creel, now appeared as part of the creature's body. He believes it to be female, his reason based on the size of the animals posterior, not visible breasts. ( sorry ladies, I couldn't possibly expand on this...!) He did not see the face in detail, only a quick glance, but watched the animal walk for a distance and then disappear into the brush. He states that he watched the animal for approx. 2-3 minutes and that it did not seem to be disturbed or in a hurry. He estimates that he was about 250 ft. from the animal, and that it was on a trail, in the open. He believes that the creature may have felt fairly safe because of the water separating them. The day after this sighting, this fellow took myself and a research assistant to the area. (He contacted me through his sister, who owned the dog and is a friend) With much trouble and quite a long walk, we crossed over to the other side of the tributary downstream, then walked upstream to the site where the animal was first seen standing. Following the direction that the creature walked, and approx. 200 yards from the spot where the creature was first seen, we found one large footprint in hard dusty dirt. The track was of the right foot, excellent condition. Upon additional inspection of the area, I found another at the water's edge in the grass and mud. There was a distance of approx. 6 ft. between the tracks. The footprints were approx. 18"x7" at the top, narrowing at the middle and heel. There was a barely visible and slightly elevated 'ridge' present, crossing the back part of the 1st track a few inches in front of the heel. Even though the ground was quite hard, there was enough loose dirt to define the 1st track quite well. Track was photographed. (The following day I returned again, with another research partner. and 2 large German Shepherd dogs for protection) We were hopeful of having a sighting, which did not happen. A cast was made, track was still in wonderful condition, photos were taken of track and casting process). (On first visit) On the ground in the general area where the creature had walked was also found one large, heavy, approx. 2 ft. long sharpened piece of wood. It resembled a very large heavy spear. Not a spear for throwing, but rather one that would be used as a hand held weapon. Although this was the impression that the item gave, I immediately realized that it would take a very large hand to wield a weapon of this size. The item was so unusual, I picked it up and took it home with me. Several theories were discussed on the way home, one theory that was speculated upon was that the creature could have used the item to spear salmon. This item was later examined by an archaeologist. The condensed report was: The "spear" was made of the hardest wood in the entire area, and it had been sharpened and used at one time as a fence post. Obviously the item had been much longer at one time. It was common for this type of wood to be used for this purpose some years back, within the last 50 years. The puzzling element of the condition of the item was that it appeared to have been broken off in a semi twisted fashion. Examiner determined that it would have taken something approx. equal to the strength of a small tractor to do this, and to pull the item out of the ground. There was no evidence of machine, or other type of marks on the item. The item was, and still remains puzzling. Found at another times, and place: but examined at the same time as the 'spear' were 3 approx. 6" - 7" pieces of rock. These were found by myself in another area where there was report of Bigfoot sighting. Report: All rocks were blunt at one end and appeared sharpened at the other. At the blunt end, the rocks fit easily into my hand, only one was too large to fit well. One of the objects had been burned in a fire. The angles in which the rocks had been possibly sharpened was consistent in all 3 items. These items resembled a hand held weapon, or perhaps a scraping tool, such as used by native Indian tribes. When asked if the items were possibly "manufactured" the archaeologist replied that ancient cultures did not always 'make' weapons or tools, but were able to easily recognize something that could be used as one. These items remain of unknown origin, but do not appear to be naturally occurring artifacts. Carene, Jan 17, Weapons and Clothing. Response... Do you have any pictures of the spear? No, but I still have the "spear", no problem to take a few. I also have one more artifact similar in length, it is much lighter and smaller in diameter, but is a sharper point. I know that this item does occur naturally in some type of evergreen trees, perhaps cedar. Still, it is a very interesting piece of wood, also found in an area with Sasquath reports. CARENE Have a report of a sighting in which a Sasquatch was high in a pine tree holding a very long piece of wood resembling a pole. Est. length was 6-7 ft. Only report I have of possible throwing of objects that I can think of right off is, report of a lady sitting outside in the forest in an area where Sasquatch sightings were reported. She was photographing wildlife. She suddenly had acorns begin to fall close, and all around her. She believes the acorns were tossed at her from several different directions. As she would turn to look in the direction from which one fell, another would fall next to her from a different direction. She did not see what or who 'tossed' the acorns. She was in a clearing, in a remote area. No trees above her, not squirrels, wind, etc. I had been going to a favorite spot for a few years, I knew the trail well and always looked for footprints. Oddly upon one of my return trips to the area I found a large rounded stone approx. the size of a volleyball in the middle of the trail. This rock had not been there previously. There is a tiny sharp point on the side of the rock. No logical reason for the rock being in the trail. It did not roll down a hill etc. I still have the rock. Carene, Jan 18, 2000. Throwing Objects. Did remember one report regarding a Sasquatch throwing objects. This is one of the more sensational that I have collected. Talking with a law enforcement officer, name and community respectfully withheld, Calif. Officer states that he was contacted by dispatcher, and directed to investigate report of a "man in a gorilla suit throwing large rocks down onto a highway", obstructing the roadway and a danger to motorists. According to information given him, more than one motorist reported sighting this occurrence. Officer states that he asked for a backup officer, as he really didn't know what he was going to encounter, but evidently there was no other officer available (especially for a report like this....) and the officer proceeded to the location alone. Upon arriving at the scene, officer describes finding several huge rocks on roadway. States that he had to move them by himself, and that there was "absolutely no way" a human could have picked up and thrown the 100lb+ rocks. States he was feeling quite uneasy and puzzled by the rocks located at the site. He moved them himself with great difficulty, pushing rocks to the side of roadway, as they were too large to lift. Officer did not see anything or anyone fitting the witness description of the "rock thrower". Does not believe these rocks 'fell' onto the roadway, as there was a lack of smaller rocks, dirt and gravel, weather conditions etc. States he believes that a Bigfoot threw the rocks onto the roadway.

CA PLUMAS 1998 TR#82 39 56N 120 56W * From the Internet. On Saturday, Oct. 17th, at about 9 PM, an incident occurred in the Plumas National Forest (Granite Basin), near Bucks Lake. This is near Quincy, CA. After dinner with a large fire to drive away the darkness, Andrew and Mark (who owns several mineral mines in the area) were talking and laughing, when all of a sudden Mark says to listen. There was this terrible repeating screeching sound that witness had heard on the Art Bell radio show...a sound that “I will never forget.” One time the soundchanged slightly and sounded like “someone strangling a cat.” This is an area of healthy forest with a lot of new growth, and well watered with many streams. Also the area is catacombed with several mines. Andrew and Mark are experienced woodsman and have been close to bears while backpacking in Yosemite park, and are familiar with wolf and coyote calls. They could not guess the distance but guessed at a couple of miles, but above the same basin where they were. It seemed as if the creature was aware of them, as when they started making noise, the screeching would resume if stopped. Witness eventually took a 12 gauge target/skeet shotgun and discharged it twice. This appeared to halt the screeching. They would not shoot the creature except with a camera. “Also noted, the night before early in the morning I heard what sounded like someone walking around our camp very softly and carefully. I did not even think about it at the time and it was too damn cold to even want to get out of my tent. No prints, smell, or any sighting was observed. Witness asked if anyone was out at the time and the answer was “no.” It was opening season for deer. The area was of thick forest among granite outcrops, with lots of mines around. Lots of logging roads gave access to the 6,000 foot, plus or minus a thousand foot area.
