Witness: JACKSON MOORE

Sighting Type: MISC
Summary: BOB FOREACRE DISAPPEARS, TRACKS SEEN

Sighting Text:
CA, San Diego area, TR25 Some months later (1970), back in the Los Angeles area, I (Jackson Moore) met Bob Foreacre, an ex-paratrooper and truck driver that was recovering from an on~the-job back injury. Bob was married and had two children that he thought the world of, taking them almost everywhere he went. One night Bob called me, and asked if I had seen the 1l PM news on the Bigfoot that had been sighted south of San Diego. I said no, that I hadn't and we talked for a few minutes more, and then hung up. But the next day, Bigfoot was all he wanted to talk about, and as we were fishing, it was hard for me to get away from the subject. Bob was the type of person that if he didn't see it for himself, it just didn't exist. His argument was like so many others: that it was all a hoax. At that time I still had most of my research material and when we got home I showed him all the data, but he was still a non-believer. He said, "since San Diego ain't that far away, why don't we go check it out?" So we did. Come the weekend and we were ready to go. We packed some cameras, plaster-of Paris and camping gear - and side arms only. We arrived in San Diego around 10:30AM on Saturday, and called the TV station to get the address of the people who had seen Bigfoot. It seems, that they had several inquiries on this, because the information was not long in coming. Then we drove out south southeast around 12 miles, following the directions we had been given, and found the place we were looking for. The folks we met had been given a bad time by most of their friends over this, and they were reluctant to discuss any of it. Bob and I convinced them that we only wanted to make some casts of the prints and shoot some pictures of whatever we had found. So it was late afternoon before we were shown where to find the tracks, some four miles away from their house. They had gone into this area to search for wood, when they had seen Bigfoot. By the time we found the place, and set up camp, it was too late to do anything, but cook a meal and call it a day. After eating, we sat around talking about what we would do when and if we found anything. Around 10PM the full moon came up and Bob said he had to answer the call of nature, and so saying, he walked off into the night in a southwest direction. Once his sound disappeared, I went about getting everything ready for in the morning, making sure that everything was where we could find it when we needed it. I checked my watch, and saw that it was 11:05PM and no Bob. I hollered a couple of times but no answer. I waited a few more minutes and again called, no answer. I thought that maybe Bob was trying to pull my leg. At midnight, I figured that Bob had enough time to answer several calls of nature, and if he was joking around, it had gone far enough, so I took a five-cell flashlight and started looking for him. His trail wasn't hard to pick up, as Bob weighed around 280 pounds and had on cowboy boots, and the heels dug in deep. I had tracked him out into the middle of a clearing of about 40-50 acres surrounded by patches of scrub trees. When his tracks just stopped, there weren't any trees of any size in this area large enough to hold a 280 pound man, nor were any close enough for him to jump to. So I spent an hour going back over each print, to see if he had walked backwards in them. As far as I could tell, he hadn't. Then I went back to camp and emptied out several boxes, and took them back to the clearing and covered the last six footprints so that I could study them in daylight. I spent what remained of the night firing shots at five minute intervals, hoping that I would get a return shot. Came the dawn and I had a pile of spent brass and a sore arm, but still no Bob. I left the camp as it was and drove to the nearest phone and called the County police. After I had explained to them several times over the phone what had transpired, they sent a couple of deputies out to see into it. They arrived around 11:15 AM, and weren't any too happy about it. After giving them all the facts several more times, they finally agreed to follow me back to camp and would look into it. It was close to 1:00PM when we arrived back at camp. I was hoping to see Bob's face, sitting there, but it wasn't, so I showed the deputies where the tracks were, and made sure they didn't walk in them. Then when we got to the boxes, they could only scratch their heads, and say it didn't make any sense to them. They were stumped, plain and simple. After I explained to them that Bob was a family man, and also was expecting a sizable cash settlement (the family never received anything, possible foul-play?), he was not one to just disappear like that, so the deputies put in a request for some Pima Indian trackers that they use from time to time and they /'' arrived on Monday. Once they were shown where the tracks started they went alone. After they came to the tracks under the boxes, we could still see them from where we were in camp. After looking around for a few minutes, they carne back to the camp and got into the car that had brought them out, and wouldn't say anything more about what they had found. But they kept looking out into the clearing and shaking their heads in a negative way. I was asked to sign an affidavit to the facts as they found them. But from that day in 1970 to this 1993, not a trace has been seen or heard from Bob. I won't even try to speculate on what might have happened to him. It was after all this that I finally threw in the towel. No more Bigfoot for me. I even moved back to Florida. One thing I regret is that in the several moves around the states I have lost all the information that was once collected on Bigfoot.

Summary: BF SEEN, 6'3

Sighting Text:
#* Here's a fairly fresh report, March 31st, 1992, but from far away California. Jim Doyle got a call from his friend Larry who had just seen Bigfoot about six miles east of San Louis Obispo (Near the coast, midway between L.A. and 'Frisco), and beat it in to alert the WBS. Larry and two friends were hiking when they came upon the 6'3" animal only 20-25 feet away in broad daylight at 2 p.m. He said it growled like a bear, charged them, stopped and looked around, then turned and ran like the wind. It scared the daylights out of them, Jim said. Also, it smelled like death he said...like dead corpses. He also said that there were big tracks all over the place. I'll call the California Big Foot Organization's hot line tonight (Apr. 9) to alert them to the relatively fresh sighting, and will also alert our members that live down there in the Bay region.

Hank was watching TV and heard his dogs barking so he went to see what was going on outside. His trash had been raided the last couple of nights. Turning on the outside lights to get a better look; he saw a shape in the dark and yelled; "hey you...get the hell out of here!" With no response to this; he got his shotgun and fired it in the air. At that time the "thing" gave out a yell and tore for the hills and he ran in the house. The thing was 6 1/2-7 feet tall; but it was to dark to tell what color it was. Hey Yankeesearch, didn’t even know you were in chat, now you have the bug so bad you will have to keep going out to see another one. :)

Anyway, as I stand before God, I did not make this up!
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:55 am »
Not saying it was Sq/BF/DM/Yeti... but it was strange. And I am locking my doors tonight for sure!
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:54 am »
And just I was turning away, I thought I heard snort -- which could have been deer or maybe cattle... but... I do not know.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:53 am »
I did not have the creepy feeling I normally get in these situations... so I really do not know what to make of it.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:53 am »
One detail I forgot to mention: the whoop had almost a human like talk after it on both occasions.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:52 am »
I walked back to the other side, and thought I heard a knock...
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:51 am »
Cattle about 1/8th mile away disappeared... and strangely at that location: it sounded like something banged the metal fence. Not loud... but never ever heard it before tonight.
