CA, Report #4; Nov.; 1994; Lee Mountain; five miles NE of Cerro Alto campground; CA. Two hunters were hunting at night using an; illegal in California; Infra-red spotting scope. They were looking at something in the woods that had a "cool" return; when it stood up and started moving through the woods and into an open field. It moved on two feet and was "different;" bigger than a man; but all the time it was in the IR it remained "cold." It was said to be like the Patterson film in this anonymous letter. An email comment-As far as technology, I suspect you have never heard the tale of the Polar Bear. For years the USAF scanned the Arctic and never photographed a Polar Bear; seals, walrus and Aleuts galore but no damned Polar Bears! After thirty years we find that Polar Bear fur traps Infrared to conserve body heat. Now WE use the Polar Bear's "technology" to hide our troops in combat.Jim,

CA, * Nothing reliable to report from our area for April. In California; investigator Mike Stevenson and partner have investigated an interesting case though. A couple and their teen-age daughter were at Cerro Alto Campground; Hy. 41; between Morro Bay and Atascadero; CA. The family was spending the Easter holiday camping (Easter Sunday Apr. 16th); and the girl saw something that she thought was a bear; but later realized was a Bigfoot. They notified Mike (runs a local ad) and he and a friend came to investigate; and found possible tracks and scuffs where the girl said she had seen something; but it was not conclusive. Two days later they called again; and this time Mike and friend went prepared and stayed a week. At sunset in the quiet camp the family heard noises of water splashing from the nearby creek; and thinking it was some kind of wild animal crept close to investigate. At first they though they were seeing a man; and closed to within 40 feet of him without being seen or heard. There was a ledge; so they couldn't tell how tall he was at first; as he was bent over. At that point the creature sensed them; turned and stood up. The Bigfoot was about 6 1/2 to 7 foot tall; dark colored (it was getting dark and the man couldn't tell if it was black or brown); and it terrified all of them...they ran back to camp and hid in their tent (like that would help) until daybreak; then broke camp and left. They called Mike again; and returned; showing him where it was. There were some tracks in the mud; but it was under water and they couldn't get plaster imprints. Mike says the man; about 45; had been in the military; and sounded; along with the rest of the family; very sincere; and he believed they had seen a Bigfoot. The man caught a swift glimpse of the creature's profile when it turned; and said it had a conical head with very long hair; and the nose; lips and chin looked human. He glanced back as they were running away and saw the thing moving on; away down the creek. They didn't know what it was doing at the creek in the first place. Mike and companion stayed in the area for a week; but had no further sightings. On the phone; he speculated about the creatures possibly migrating through the area; and had thought since the fires last year; he wouldn't get any reports this year. The area is primarily chaparral. ,

* Mike Stevenson interview. A Los Angeles couple stopped for lunch in Nov., 1991, at the Cerro Alto campground east of Morro Bay, CA. The man smelled something foul in the area, turned, and "it" was looking at him. The Bigfoot was a brown-gray color and about 7 feet tall. The face was human-like and black in color. It turned and ran into the tree line. Cast of the tracks was 22 X 7 inches.

The son came back from the bathroom yelling that there was something in the woods and it scared him...he said it was Harry from the TV show. Mom went to look and saw a large shape moving through the woods on feet, walking like a man. She couldn't tell what color it was, but threw the kids in the car and left.

CA SAN MATEO 1990 37 26N 122 19W TR#90 *Subj: [Sasquatch] WSSSG Report andrew@tss.net (Andrew Peterson), Sasquatch@onelist.com In third week of August,1990, witness and boyfriend were headed south, and passed Redwood Park on Big Sur Hy., and stopped along road to admire sunset and full moon. Heard an approaching noise like panting and grunting. Looking south on the highway, witnesses say someone walking north on the inland side of the highway. Closer, it was a creature, head to toe brown, and moving rapidly. It passed us about 20 feet away and it appeared to be 7-8 feet tall. It never looked at witnesses, and they quickly got in the car and drove off.

CA SANTA BARBARA TR#86 34 35N 120 33 page 151 of Dr. Karl Shuker's book, The Unexplained. 1833: A twelve foot tall skeleton was uncovered at Lompock Rancho, California, by soldiers digging a pit for a powder magazine. The skull had a double row of teeth. Also found were stone axes, carved shells, and porphyry blocks bearing symbols. The skeleton was reburied and "lost" when the locals started venerating it.

CA SHASTA 1998 TR#74 * March 6th, 1998. Don Condencia, a mounted police officer of San Francisco was deer hunting near Castle Craig State Park, CA, and was using an electronic playback of a bleating deer. He heard something big crash while it moved through the woods, and large pine trees nine feet apart started, “whipping like crazy.” There was a loud “chirping” sound and screams.

CA SHASTA 2000 TR99 * Bob Everett, Northern California Bigfoot Organization. 530-623-4742; bpelect@cwnet.com On April 24th, 2000 I received a telephone call from a person we will know as JEFFERY, other detailed information will be kept confidential. Jeffery called me at app. 4 PM on this date and stated he had been researching any type of Bigfoot sighting that had been published in the local newspapers. Jeffery told me that he had some first-hand information and two sightings of a Bigfoot near the SE end of **Whiskeytown Lake in Shasta County, CA. Jeffery was driving along Mult Town Hill Road near the Historical town of Shasta, Ca. While driving along the road as he has done numerous times in the past, accounting for places to hunt in the Fall during deer season. After driving app. 2 miles he spots a very large creature standing behind some 5 foot manzanita bushes. The creature was now moving along the road and was about 5 feet above the bushes, making it app. 9-10 feet high, and it kept on moving along the road as Jeffery continued to drive very slowly. After 15 minutes, the creature moved off into the heavy underbrush. Jeffery did not have a camera with him at this time. The next day he came back to the same spot and baited the area with a 50# bag of dog food (Gravy Train) and a large bag of apples. After driving around the area Jeffery did not see the big creature that day, went home and returned that night just before it was getting dark. He stopped his car and got out to check the bait...to Jeffrey’s surprise, the large creature was standing almost in the exact spot where it was the day before. The very large creature let out a howl or scream, nothing that he had heard before, and took off walking at a fast gait and disappeared. Jeffery was scared at this time and returned home. The next day the dog food and apples were gone, no tracks were found. Bob Everett with Jeffery went back to the area and found an old miner’s cabin, and a stone cistern. There was an old mine that caved in some time ago. There was a smell that came out of the entrance that was of something dead inside. Quartz rocks all over the area and in the tailing. My dog wouldn’t even go near the mine and when I tried to get the dog to go near the entrance the hair on her back would stand upright, and when she went down some of the other trails in the area she would growl under her breath.
