CO, TR17* Larry Howe and a business companion were driving from California to Denver in 1978, and while crossing the Rocky Mountains via Wo1f Creek pass (10,850 ft., Hy. 160, SW part of Colo.), stopped to relieve themselves. At the bottom of a ravine, 150-200 ft. down, there was a series of footprints that were about 18" long in the snow. They came out of the woods and followed the ravine that paralleled the roadside for a quarter mile. There was some melt out of the tracks, but Larry said they were plainly human and not bear.

IBS Report #: 1112

Location: MISG county, CO. UNITED STATES

Sighting Type: 1

Latitude:
Longitude:
Day:
Month:
Year: 1990S
Time: NIGHT
Elevation:

Data Source: TR95
Credibility: 3
Locality: UNK
Researcher: K. FOSTER
Witness: COOUSIN

Sighting Type: 1
Summary: BF SEEN, RV ALMOST TIPPED OVER BY SHAKIN, BOX OF APPLES GONE. ODOR

Sighting Text:
CO 1990’S TR95 * From: K. Foster Date: 27-Jan-00 When we were having all that Bigfoot activity near our Colorado cabin in the early 90's, my then 45 year old cousin had his large RV almost tipped over at night by something that was shaking it. Whatever it was, stole a large box of apples, box and all, that night from under the edge of the RV. My cousin grabbed his pistol, but could not even stand up as the creature was rocking the RV so violently that it was coming off its wheels on one side. It was dark out, and all he could see was something big and tall outside the windows of his RV. He said it was walking on its back legs and so thought it couldn't be a bear. It was grunting and huffing and puffing loudly while rocking the RV and it then stopped abruptly and just walked away. Guess it just was asking for more apples. Was it just a big bear? We don't know, but did find out that another family had the same thing happen the next year at a nearby campground. None of these people, including my cousin, had ever heard of the other Bigfoot stuff that was happening in the area. My cousin thought it was a really big bear at the time, but could not figure out why it was walking around his RV on its back legs like a person. He said it was way too big to be a person. He and those in the cabin that night also reported that the creature smelled so bad that it almost made them wretch. Their description of the smell was a cross between rotting meat, sewer and the monkey house at a zoo. Which could describe the smell of a bear that had been eating a rotting carcass, so really means nothing in particular. What I wish is that someone would start taking fingerprints at the scene of some of these incidents involving cars, trucks and RV's. Then we might have something substantial to look at. We probably won't get fingerprints either, because few law enforcement agencies are going to take fingerprints at the scene of a "bear" shaking a vehicle. Now if somebody is killed in a vehicle by a Bigfoot, we might get some fingerprint evidence, but that event is very unlikely. I guess we already have toe prints with all the dermal ridges that are like fingerprints, and nothing has really come of it, except a few fingerprint experts telling us that such things couldn’t happen in the early 90's, my then 45 year old cousin had his large RV almost tipped over at night by something that was shaking it.

Summary: BF RUNS ACROSS MEADOW, TREES TWISTED, SIGN PULLED UP, FINGERPRINTS NOTED

Sighting Text:
CO 1999 TR95 This report originally posted to BFRO. * K. Foster report. Fall, 1999, southern Colorado. A bow hunter, his wife and teen-aged son and a nephew all saw a Sasquatch clearly, run across a wide-open meadow within 100 yards of them, while scouting for an elk hunt. A government bear hunter reported the same thing there back in the 1800’s Something is grabbing living evergreens ten feet off the ground and twisting them like a match stick, even though the trunk is over four inches in diameter. Tree after tree, after tree, and bend it downward after the twist. They are not bitten off, they are twisted by something. We also had a Forest Service sign that was repeatedly being pulled up from the ground by vandals. It had a 4 X 4 post and the FS finally greased the pole with heavy axle grease to keep the vandals from pulling it out of the ground again. The next time they checked it, it was out of the ground and tossed to the side again. They found fingerprints the size of summer sausages in the grease.

It had possibly been sitting on a stump, and stood. Very hairy, 3-400 pounds, bigger than a bear, very black. There was a lot of other wildlife around...a coyote even approached, begging. They gave it a pretzel.

CO TELLER 1986 TR#85 * In October, 1986, Teller County, CO, near Cripple Creek Watershed. In high mountain forest, just below timberline at about 10,000 feet. Friend told reporter that at first light, the friend, his father, and his cousin had crested a hill in two pickup trucks. There was six inches of fresh snow on the ground, and on the hillside in front of them about 200 yards away they saw a fresh set of tracks, very large and easy to distinguish in the new snow. They had left a heavily wooded area. going downhill into an open area, looped around, and went back up to the forest, in an “omega” pattern . Studying the area with binoculars, looking for elk, the cousin turned white as he put the glasses down. “I think I just saw Bigfoot.” They did not go any closer or examine the tracks.

Hey Yankeesearch, didn’t even know you were in chat, now you have the bug so bad you will have to keep going out to see another one. :)
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:56 am »
Anyway, as I stand before God, I did not make this up!
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:55 am »
Not saying it was Sq/BF/DM/Yeti... but it was strange. And I am locking my doors tonight for sure!
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:54 am »
And just I was turning away, I thought I heard snort -- which could have been deer or maybe cattle... but... I do not know.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:53 am »
I did not have the creepy feeling I normally get in these situations... so I really do not know what to make of it.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:53 am »
One detail I forgot to mention: the whoop had almost a human like talk after it on both occasions.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:52 am »
I walked back to the other side, and thought I heard a knock...
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:51 am »
Cattle about 1/8th mile away disappeared... and strangely at that location: it sounded like something banged the metal fence. Not loud... but never ever heard it before tonight.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:50 am »
Two whoops... and some deer scattering (they may have been scattering because of me).
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:50 am »
From 6:20 PM to maybe 6:45 PM CST
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:49 am »
I may have just had an encounter!
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:46 am »
Hi gang! I know it has been a long time...
@ BrianDriver « Sat 12:59 pm »
Good quality pics. How long were the cams out?

Just to get the chat going, it’s going to take some time to move over all the data, but in the end, hope everyone likes the layout here.
